We provide eviction prevention counseling, assistance in finding housing, and referrals to local landlords, shelters, and transitional homes. We work in partnership with King County Regional Homelessness Authority, Neighborhood Program in Auburn, Catholic Community Services, Labatayah, and Nexus Youth and Families.
KGO facilitates employment through partnerships with local businesses in industries such as janitorial services and construction. We also offer internships for youth (ages 18-26) in collaboration with Department of Social Services Career Path, Green River College, and Highline Community College.
KGO distributes hot meals and groceries, ensuring cultural relevance for diverse clients. We work closely with Helping Hand & Hallelujah Food Bank, Union Gospel Mission, Replate Seattle, and Meals Partnership Coalition to serve both sheltered and unsheltered individuals.
In addition to providing hot meals twice a week and essential supplies (such as tents and clothing), KGO helps unsheltered individuals find long-term solutions. We partner with King County Hallelujah Women & Men Rehabilitation House, Into His Chambers Behavioral & Drug Rehabilitation Center, King County Detox, and other local organizations.
KGO organizes community events that foster unity among BIPOC families and local institutions, including police, city government, and schools. We focus on addressing gaps in African American support related to bullying, transitioning to self-sufficiency, and access to college education.
Our BIPOC senior population often struggles with hunger, isolation, and falls. KGO helps alleviate these issues through youth internships, which include grocery shopping, meal preparation, and providing companionship. We also offer support with technology and bill payment assistance.
